In The Corner
In the corner of my mind there is a place
I've been a thousand times, I've seen Your face
Haunting memories of how it used to be
But I can't get there now
In this corner of my world there's no escape
From the feelings that I hold, they find a way
To flood me till I drown, or tie me down
And I can't get there now
All I am is longing to be with You
Somehow, I've got to get through to You
And my heart wants to run
Wants to fly to Your arms
But I end up back once again
In the corner of my mind
If I only could get past how it used to be
Speaking here and now with the whole me
Enthrone You in my tears and see You in my fears
Then I would meet You now
There I heard angels singing
Is it any wonder that I want to be there
Help me see that where I am is where You are
Won't you open my eyes?
All I am is longing to be with You
Somehow, I've got to get through to You
And my heart wants to run
Wants to fly to Your arms
But I know that I'll end
Here once again
Help me to meet You here
Help me to make this place my own
Help to see You, help me to sing
Help me to give You everything
Everything
All my sorrow, all my tears
All the laughter all my fears
Help me give them all to You

Any one who's ever been to a big christian event will probably be able to identify with this song.
You're at the event. The worship and teaching are amazing. Your faith has never felt so real. You've never felt this close to God.
Fast forward a week.
You're back home, back at work, school, etc, and somehow, you've slipped back into the mentality you had before the event.
"In The Corner" is about that post-mountain-top experience. While it's great to have those times, it's where we are for the other 51 sundays that count. God is always with us. It's just we don't realise it all the time. It's very easy to get caught up in the big PA and bright lights of the worship and to start thinking that's where God is.
Worship isn't about the buzz we get from a big event, it's about the day to day living out of our faith, in every situation.
